My Journey to Machu Picchu
Written by Tina Sibley in January 2019

Can a fat, old bird with high blood pressure, a heart condition and a severe fear of heights hike the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu?

At the time of booking this trip at the start of January 2019, I seriously doubted it! But I was determined to give it my best shot!

I kept a separate blog of my progress in training and the entire journey as well. You can read it here:

Winning in Life: NOT about being the best

Written by Tina Sibley in April 2021

Winning in life isn't always about being the best, or the first!

It's about persistence and continuing to push forwards.

Read how and, more importantly why I won a trophy - even though I was last!

Bravery: NOT the absence of fear
Written by Tina Sibley in August 2020

People who happily do things that others are scared to do, aren't necessarily being brave. If they don't have the fear, they have no need to be brave.

Instead, I believe that bravery is when the fear is there and they do it anyway! The bigger the fear, the bigger the bravery!

I overcame a fear of heights - now I'm not as brave as I used to be!

Let me explain.

Obliterating Self-Doubt
Written by Tina Sibley in July 2020

This was a very special moment for me.

A truly transformational moment.

The moment when I reached Dead Woman’s Pass on the Inca Trail. It was even more emotional for me than the Sun Gate at Dawn and even getting to Machu Picchu. I literally sobbed with Joy.

Why?

Hiking: Cañon de Las Buitreras

HIKING IN THE SPANISH HILLS: CAÑON DE LAS BUITRERAS (Vultures Canyon)

Hot Air Balloon Experience Ronda

HOT AIR BALLOON EXPERIENCE IN RONDA: TOTALLY UNFORGETTABLE!

The silence was palpable. Both eerie and peaceful. We were floating like a bird with the picturesque landscape stretching out below us as though we were in a real Google Satellite image.

The silence was broken with the hot and deafening roar of the burners, giving us a blast of hot air to take us even higher.

I was filled with awe. And the realisation that I never, ever believed that this day would happen.

Yet - here I was!

Overcoming Symptoms of Speaking Nerves

What Happens to My Body When I Speak in Public?

Help! My Body Is Acting Weird!

One of the questions I’m often asked about public speaking is ‘what on earth is going on with my body?’

It’s true that, when nerves kick in, our bodies seem to have a mind of their own and don’t feel like they belong to us at all.

Being Who You Truly Are

DARING YOURSELF TO BE WHO YOU TRULY ARE:

Being the person you truly are in this day and age is actually quite difficult.

For a start. We're all programmed from a very early age.

Achieving Goals With Milestones

Written by Tina Sibley in January 2022

HOW WILL YOU ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS THIS YEAR?

The easiest way that I've found to achieve BIG goals is to break them down into milestones.

When I began my quest to hike the Inca Trail, it seemed so far away and so out of my reach it was difficult to see myself actually achieving it. So I broke it down.

Dating Confidence

Written by Tina Sibley in April 2021

Do you Dare to Date? Or Dare to do anything fun?

The greatest thing about having confidence is that you can dare yourself to do absolutely anything you want to!

Whether that’s go on a first date at age 60, travel alone, take up a new hobby, make new friends or even jump out of a plane!

Choices, choices!
Written by Tina Sibley in June 2018

It was a cold but bright, sunny day in April in Calgary. I was on my way back to the house from the supermarket when I saw it….

A home-made ice cream shop advertising 72 delicious flavours including old favourites such as various chocolate flavours, or raspberry ripple and weird and wonderful offerings such as Tiger Tail, Triple Tornado and even Hedgehog!

Although around -15C outside, it was definitely not too cold for ice cream!

I went inside and gawped at the counters trying to decide what I wanted. And my brain went into an indecisive fog – I wanted to try them ALL! My gut feeling, quite literally was to have several. But I had to decide on just two.

How to choose?

The Power of The Pause
Written by Tina Sibley in August 2018

Imagine you’re on a battlefield – and you need to rally your troops!

You need to gain their confidence and motivate and inspire them into action. But before you do that, you need to command their attention so your voice can be heard.

You can ride up and down before your army hollering ‘FREEEEDOM!’ – (Think Braveheart! ) But what if you’re not the hollering type – and most leaders are not!

Imagine you’re Napoleon Bonaparte. Napoleon was not an imposing figure – he had no height or stature standing at only 5ft 2 inches. And he didn’t have a great speaking voice – he spoke French with a coarse Corsican accent.

So how did he do it?

He had a secret weapon – he used the Power of The Pause.

Coaches - Struggling to Get Clients?
Written by Tina Sibley in January 2018

Many coaches and consultants struggle to get new clients on board.

Here’s the problem:

The ‘old’ ways of getting clients aren’t working so well:

Content Frustration
Written by Tina Sibley in January 2018

You give your best webinar and nobody buys!

Or your best stage talk, or video, or Facebook Live – and crickets!

You know that feeling? When you’ve just given some awesome content and you get loads of people tell you that it was brilliant and that you’re an inspiration – but a week or so after the event, absolutely NO-ONE has turned into a client!

Why the Value Ladder is Flawed

Ever since I’ve been working online, I’ve been following the teachings of a model that is widely followed but which is, I now believe, to be flawed.
