A Transformational Adventure
MAGNIFICENT MOROCCO
Magnificent Morocco
We can never make complete guarantees - especially when dealing with nature! However, this trip is planned for dry season so we're not expecting problems. That said, mother nature is unpredictable and unforeseen conditions or a mountain fire may mean we have to deviate from the planned route or agenda. Safety is always our first priority.
Never! Age really is just a number - it's all in the mind. People have hiked large mountains such as Kilimanjaro even in their 80s. I myself was 61 on my first summit and 62 on my second. What's important is that you have a young mindset and approach. The mountains in Morocco should pose no barrier whatever your age, as long as you are reasonably fit and healthy.
That depends on how much time there is before booking and the trip itself!
Although this trip is good for beginners to hiking, it does require an element of physical fitness. The hike up Jebel Musa on day 1 is a steep climb, so you need to be up for that. That said, there will be regular rests to catch your breath, reflect and take photos.
Part of the experience is about doing more physically than you normally would. Experienced hikers are welcome - you will find this fairly easy if you're a seasoned hiker or walker but that gives you even more opportunity to reflect and take the opportunity to work on yourself and your goals.
Regular walking is one of the best ways to prepare, increasing frequency and length, as you get closer to the adventure. All aerobic exercises including cycling, running and swimming are good for strengthening the cardiovascular system. Generally, any exercise that increases the heart rate for 20 minutes is helpful but don’t over do it just before the trip.
More than anything offered anywhere else!
Most tour operators start to look after you when you arrive at the welcome meeting on arrival day. This trip supports you fully long before that.
As soon as you pay your deposit to reserve your place, you're part of the family! You will be invited to a one-to-one onboarding session with Tina Sibley and your journey will begin. You will also join monthly zoom meetings with your fellow participants to help you prepare - we will discuss your training regime, your travel arrangements, your equipment and packing list - and more. You will also be invited to join the monthly mastermind, where there are weekly meetings to help you achieve your goals - your fitness goals for the trip plus your other life and business goals as well. In addition, there will be a Facebook group and a specific trip WhatsApp group so you can chat to your fellow adventurers.
We will always do our best to accommodate Vegetarian, Gluten Sensitive, and Dairy-Free diets.
If you have other requirements, please let us know and I can contact the local team and we will do our best to accommodate them.
No, airfare is not included. Participants come from different places, so it's not possible to cater for this. In addition, many travellers like to arrive beforehand or stay longer afterwards to see more of the country. Not including airfare allows for extra flexibility. For this particular trip, the ferry is included from Tarifa for those travelling from Spain, and airport transfers are included from the airport for those arriving by air.
Absolutely! We welcome solo travellers but you will never be alone.
This particular trip involves accommodation in gites with dormitory-style accommodation - connection with your fellow travellers is all part of the experience.
Yes - if there is sufficient time prior to the trip taking place. A non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking and this gives you immediate access to all the pre-trip support, including a one-to-one onboarding session over zoom and membership of the virtual retreat. The full balance must be paid no later than 60 days before the adventure takes place. You can discuss instalment options during the onboarding session.
We want nothing more than for you to escape on one of our adventures. However, we understand emergencies do occur that may cause you to cancel your reservation. Our cancellation and refund policy is as follows:
The deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE - you will still have access to the monthly mastermind until the month end that the trip takes place.
Refunds will be given as outlined below based on how long before the trip cancellation happens.
Full refund (less non-refundable deposit): 91+ days prior to the adventure
50% (less non-refundable deposit): 61-90 days prior to the adventure
No refund: 30 days or less prior to the adventure
We can offer a substitution - although this may involve a small transfer fee.
No exceptions will be granted to our Cancellation policy.
We reserve the right to cancel trips with inadequate participant attendance, in which case all money paid will be fully refunded. We CANNOT be held responsible for any personal expenses, such as airline tickets due to changes in itineraries or tour cancellations. We recommend that you wait for confirmation that the trip is proceeding before purchasing air tickets.
We reserve the option to modify trip itineraries at the discretion of your tour director as necessary due to weather, conditions, illness, injury, group dynamics, safety, or other unforeseen incidents.
Travel Insurance is a requirement of this trip and we require a copy of your policy before we begin.
Yes you can! If you can't make the scheduled dates, or want to have a private tour with just you, or maybe with your parter or the whole team, this can be catered for. We recommend taking your trip between the cooler seasons from September to the end of June as it gets very hot in Morocco during July and August. For just one person, this would be considerably more - the bigger the group, the more value per person! We can also put together a custom itinerary of activities before and after the climb. Get in touch if you would like to discuss this.
