Why The Value Ladder is Flawed!

Ever since I’ve been working online, I’ve been following the teachings of a model that is widely followed but which is, I now believe, to be flawed.
  
The Value Ladder or Product Funnel sets out your products and services ranging from free content or very low price (often referred to as ‘trip-wire’) right up to premium and very expensive offerings.

Depending on which model you look at, it looks something like this:

Whether the teachings follow the Product Funnel, or the Value Ladder, they both teach the same thing:
You start with Free content to build a relationship and move upwards from there.  

But while this all seems to make sense, these models are flawed. I’m not saying they don’t work – I’m saying that there is more to it than meets the eye! And to say the free and low cost end of the model is totally passive income is a myth! These often take as much looking after, if not more!
